Travel Dates
The time of year you visit Walt Disney World will impact your experience and your cost. From the Festival of the Arts in January to Christmas Celebrations in December, there is always a special event going on. Disney World is always busy but, the summer months and holidays are the busiest times to visit.
Budget
There isn't really a cheap way to do a Disney Vacation but there are some costs you can control such as the resort and food. Ticket prices vary by time of year but are the same for everyone unless you qualify for a discount such as Florida Resident or Military. You can check out the Sample Trips page for examples of itineraries and pricing.
Where to Stay
Disney World Resort Hotels fill up quickly, especially around the holidays and school breaks. Disney Resorts can be pricey and the least expensive rooms tend to fill up first, so planning ahead is key if you want to stick to a budget. There are also plenty of off-site hotels, resorts, house rentals, etc. within 10 to 15 minutes of Disney World. When looking at staying off-site, be sure to include the cost of a rental car, Uber/Lyft, parking at Disney Parks, time of travel, and convenience. After a long, long, day of Disney Magic, you might not feel like driving to a far away hotel. That being said, it can be just as exhausting to wait for Disney Transportation when it's running behind.

Flights
Typically, you'll want to arrive early and leave late to allow your travel days to also be park days - this isn't always possible depending on where you're flying from and cost. You can use applications such as Google Flights to track prices and search for flights. Sometimes booking separate 1-way tickets instead of roundtrip can save you money - be sure to check each way.
